Hi I’m Suzie Fleming and I live in Ardfern. During lockdown, I discovered “slumping” and I don’t mean on the sofa in front of the TV with a large glass of Pinot Grigio, tempting as that sounds! I have been experimenting with fusing glass for a while now, first in a microwave kiln and now in a large electric kiln. The fused glass can then be slumped into or over moulds.
I have been having fun and experimenting – learning from the successes and mistakes along the way. The outcome has been these little bowls, which could hold a tea-light or rings or trinkets. No two are the same but some may be similar. Most of my inspiration has come from the landscape and sea around us. Also I’ve been trying out jewellery and decorations with some gorgeous results.
